Product Design is a term with many definitions, our take on good Product Design is the development of a product that is strongly focused on achieving its design intent. That may include a particular aesthetic or brand language, it may also need to meet certain ergonomic requirements to suit the demographic of end user. Likewise, the design may need to meet a functional requirements. Product Design is by nature a very diverse and varied discipline, but it is always focused on the end user. This is an area where I pride myself in my ability to take on a challenging brief and turn it into a great product for my clients.

For a product design to be considered great, it is essential that the product first fulfills its functional requirements. This is where our Mechanical Engineering skillset is essential. There is little I enjoy more than developing clever, yet simple and reliable mechanical solutions to a problem. I’ve integrated mechanical solutions to numerous consumer products, as well as unashamedly heavy structures for commercial sites. I have developed many award-winning designs and have multiple patents granted. I relish the opportunity to find solutions to challenging mechanical problems and I’m confident I can meet your design brief.

What is a good design, if it cannot be manufactured? While we always employ best practice in Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA), we have found that different manufacturers have different strengths. And do by supporting our clients through this process yields the best results. I like to work with my clients in finding a manufacturing partner, then working with that partner to achieve the best solution for all.
